We here at San Francisco Community Radio/Save KUSF have spent the past five years fighting to return community radio to the San Francisco airwaves. Returning to the airwaves is an expensive proposition. We have to navigate the Federal Communication Commission’s Low Power FM application process. Seven other organizations applied for the same LPFM license we applied for. Unfortunately, that means paying lawyers. Fortunately, we have a great one in Peter Franck.
We know many of you have given money in the past and we appreciate it. We wouldn’t have made it this far without you. However, we won’t be able to get back on the air unless we meet our goals. Won’t you please consider donating to us? Won’t you please consider asking your friends and family to donate to us?
San Francisco Community Radio is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit. Your donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. We are an all-volunteer organization. None of us are getting paid – we are doing this for our love of community radio and to do exactly what you asked us to 3 ½ years ago when the University of San Francisco announced the proposed sale of the KUSF 90.3 FM broadcast license – Return community radio to the San Francisco airwaves! All donations go toward that fight.
We don’t know when the FCC will decide. But please consider helping us meet our goal of $5,000. You can donate through PayPal using your credit card or mail us a check. By PayPal, send the donation to our treasurer (sfcr DOT treasurer AT gmail DOT com) Please include in the memo field that you are donating to the “SFCR Legal Fund.” To pay by check, make it out to “San Francisco Community Radio,” and write, “SFCR Legal Fund,” in the memo line. Mail it to:

Short on cash? That’s OK. Every little bit helps. And you can even bundle donations from your friends and family. If you get 10 friends to donate $10 each, that’s $100 for the cause! Just have them make out checks as detailed above, put them in one envelope and send them in! For more information on bundling, contact our treasurer (sfcr DOT treasurer AT gmail DOT com). Thanks again for all of your help!
